I've been coming to Evolve Bootcamp for over a year now, only taking a break for the winter months. When I first joined I expected what bootcamp sounded like---a military style workout with an instructor yelling at you while working out. I couldn't have been more wrong. Shelley has a wonderful way of pushing you to your limits and keeping you engaged the whole class, all with a smile on her face! I don't think I've ever looked forward to a workout as much as bootcamp. I'm hooked, and I can't wait to come back in the spring. There is a great sense of community here, and it's wonderful to be exercising outside. Definitely give it a shot!" Dana Ferruzzi (Yelp)
That says it all... I feel strong and fit and Shelley gets much of the credit. She changes the fitness boot camp challenges all the time and she organizes fun weekend outings all over greater Boston and beyond to keep things interesting (for herself and the campers) .... hiking in the Blue Hills; running and yoga in the Arboretum and Castle Island; Sky Zone Trampoline in Norwood; mud runs, mini triathlons and I hear kayaking to come soon!! have you run as fast as you could (without anyone chase you) or did a round of leapfrog or played dodge ball or threw a tire around? I am assuming that unless you have been to a fitness boot camp the answer is "never" -- but being at Evolve is like being back in gym class, but way more fun! Shelley is a ball of energy and is so supportive and also tough as nails! No two workouts are the same and she always keeps you guessing as to what is going to be next.....which is part of the fun. I absolutely love working out with Shelley and the rest of the folks in my group -- trust me the workout is hard and high energy but they are so much fun! I have never ever been bored in class and no two sessions have been the same. I love being outdoors, meeting new people and oh yeah....looking and feeling great is a huge bonus as well! "Having never done anything close to resembling a boot camp, I decided to give this one a try after purchasing a deal for it. I figured I would only do it for a month but after that time came and went, I stayed for over 6 months only taking a break due to an injury. This is the only boot camp I've tried so I can't compare it to others and I wouldn't want to! Shelley is a great coach and works with people of all fitness levels. "By far the BEST Bootcamp in Boston... and I've tried a few. Shelley's workouts are dynamic, motivating, educational and challenging. She mixes up the exercises and really focuses on movements that provide equivalent results to workouts I have done using machines or weights at the gym. I felt and saw results after just a few classes. Shelley really pays attention to form and demonstrates each movement and gives tips on how to do the workouts safely. There's a ton of variety, from sprinting up hills to jumping on benches to throwing medicine balls to pull-ups at the playground. It's quite lovely to workout in the morning in the public garden or on the Common - beautiful spots in the city that I don't visit often enough. And Shelley is unfailingly positive with everyone. I was in pretty good shape when I started, but I'm in even better shape now - I'm sore in a good way after her workouts, and I've lost those five last pounds that were plaguing me.
